Does anyone know what this is and what to do about it? The tank is still cycling and it seems to be only growing on the driftwood and the silicone that holds the tank together.

Thanks

The growth on the driftwood is normal if it is a new piece. Do you have any pictures? What method are you using to cycle the tank?

fuzz

No..I do not have any pictures. I have a 45g bow front and its only been cycling for three weeks. I have one daino in it and it seems to be doing fine except for the white fuzz looking slime on the driftwood and silicone.

One danio isn't enough to cycle your tank quickly IMO for that size tank. Can you house the danio in another smaller tank and do a fishless cycle? The white slimy fuzz sounds normal but without pics can't be totally sure. I rinsed off my driftwood and used an algae scrubber on the glass to get rid of it. It will stop on it's own as the tank cycles.
