tank size to my fish

ive had 4 tanks so far and have finally taken the plundge and moved on to cichlids, i purchased a new tank the Aqua One 620.

i have put a lot of work into setting it up and a lot of money.

i have two oscars in there i know these can get big
one mailwi
two parrot fish
two pleco
two plecitas (new breed of pleco i named)
a few other cichlids im not sure what they are
one green terror

loads of gouramis that i wish to be rid of and tetras

basically what im asking is what type i have for the ones i dont know, the size they all grow to and whether ive made a mistake and bought the wrong type of tank i think it is 29 gallons and how i can rock it up so they feel at home and what type of rocks i need and finally will the fish stay to the size of the tank and if not how soon will i need a bigger tank
tank

what is it

what is the little blue one and what size does it grow too

what size does he/she grow to

whats this little one he sort of multicolour by the fish breeder box

Yeah I have had a fife month old Oscar at the size of 15 inches in the tank he was ok but I was just looking after him while he healed from attacks from bigger ones in a friends tank.
But if the fish really do only grow to the size of the tank I should be ok right regarding the Oscars or I could pass them on to a friend and start again with my favourite fish or at that point 5months down the line pay out another 500 for another set up, but then again the Indian around the corner has 2 of them in a wall tanks just a bit bigger than that, so I believe they will be fine for the time being.

But regarding my other fish have you got any breed names or advice on how big they will grow in my tank thank you

They may grow slower but its not healthy. If you put a large dog breed in a small cage it will porb be smaller then one that is in the open but its not going to be able to move(exercise) and be healthy.

Use google and put "profile" after all the fish you have and you will find that many of them get big. Plecos can get 12"+ depending on species and if its a Blood Parrot(which it looks like) they can get 8". Oscars get huge also.

At my LFS they had a huge Pleco like 18" and a couple Oscars(and couple other large fish) in 150G tank and that was maxed out and they looked cramped in there.

You didn't mention how many gallons your tank is, but I believe it would be under 29, correct? I would think that would be too many big fish for that size tank. I would think the oscars would need to be in a huge tank all by themselves. Don't know about the other fish.....

I wouldn't think the size they are "going to be" would matter as much as the tank having too many fish in it right now. It seems way overstocked to me. You end your stock inventory by saying "loads of gouramis that i wish to be rid of and tetras" on top of the other fish you mentioned. It just sounds way overstocked to me. I would try to find new homes for some of them, get another tank for some of them, or see if your lfs will take some of them back.....jmho, though...

Well ive got to go to my local fish shop and ill ask them where they want them, if not im afraid if no one else wants them it will be terrapin food, apart from the gouramis, but the fish are happy with the room they have got they were only up at the front like that because I had put some floating sticks in for them to munch to get them all out to take a photo.

I like all other cichlid fish love them to bits so I will get them a bigger tank but I will say that the images are deceiving due to the fact that I have got tonnes of decorations in there like the roots of a tree shaped model that make it look smaller but I think it is at least 29 gallon, ive got quite a mixture in size of fish in the tank as well.

If you like the cichlid fish, look for Dwarf cichlids they stay smaller ~4", but there are thousands of cichlid species so you have to read about them b/c they all do not get along together.

Here are some proven Cichlid setups for 29G tanks

Cheers mate if you’ve got any other advice and I will be purchasing around about 600 gallon tank when they get bigger hopefully about 6 months down the line, oh and by the way, I am hoping to book a holiday to lake Malawi within the year so that I can see there natural habitat ive seen the pics on Google and it looks amazing did you put a name to my little blue one in the tank

Another small question it may be silly if I were to put a Siamese beta in the tank would it possibly get on with each other
