Just got back from fishing!

Done my tests:

Ammonia 0.25
nitrite 1
Nitrate 10
PH (high) 7.4
PH 7.6
KH 6dkh 125.3 ppm
GH 29 drops of solution which is 519.1ppm

Is the gh way too high? Looks well out of range.

Any one know what a good or average GH reading should be? Or is it likely my test is wrong? The GH tester reagent was only made last year.

If you think that you have an outrageously wrong reading, then test again.

I'd recommend getting a copy of the water report for your area if they have them available. It'll give you an idea of what's in your water including the GH. While that reading is rather high, it's very much possible. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you're having problems keeping your fish. In that case I'd recommend a RO unit and then mix the RO water with waste water to get the desired paramenters.

hmm, i dont know how to go about that!

I'll try and find out.

Right guys and girls,

Just tested the water results as follows:

Ammonia0
nitrite 1
Nitrate 40

Aquarium is medium planted, haven't done water change for 3 days.

Nitrite remains at 1 and has been consistent. Any ideas how to get this down? Even when i change the water it stays relatively the same.

What about the nitrate also?
