So since I've decided to switch from gravel to sand, I'm also going to try my hand at live plants while I'm at it. I'm also planning on somewhat changing how my tank is decorated, I want to use larger rocks as the main decor, possible some driftwood as well. My current stock in a 55g is:
4 Bolivian rams
6 serpae tetras
4 platy (includes 3 fry)
1 balloon molly
1 albino pleco
4 peppered cories
4 bronze cores
I want to only have two rams until I see how much room my new decor will take up, mainly the rocks. As I'm switching to sand I'm also thinking of getting rid of my poop machines... The balloon Molly and and my platys. Thoughts or suggestions?

Yah good call on the mollies and platies. I did have platies but they did my head in. I finally got rid of them. It would free up some room in your tank.
