I am in the process of setting up my new to me 125 gallon aquarium. It has Fluvel 305 and Magnum 350 canister filters, and a HOB 350 filter. I also have three power heads that used to be connected to an under gravel filter; however, it the filter broke before I got the setup. Could you help me decide wether I need it or not? My current plan is to stock it with 6-8 Silver a Dollars, a severum, and a couple of Hoplo catfish.

Thanks,

Jerry

Do you need the UGF? Honestly, it's not necessary and it will likely come back to haunt you if you decided to use it. Modern technology is much more efficient and easier to maintain. The powerheads can be still be used for tank circulation if needed. If you find you are in need of additional filtration, adding another canister would be your best bet with a large tank. Good luck with the new tank! :)

Thanks for your advice. I think that is the way I will go!
