Update: The tank was set up Sunday night. On tuesday readings were 0 Ammonia, 0 Nitrites, 0 Nitrates, but the water was really cloudy. So, I did a 20% water change and added some bacteria stuff from Petsmart. Not Bio-Spira, and not Stress Zyme. The petsmart guy said it's a natural bacteria instead of synthetic like Stress Zyme? Anyway, I dosed with that on Tuesday evening.

Wednesday evening the water was clear, but still 0 for ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates. PH was about 7.5-7.9. Dosed again w/bacteria per instructions. Fish look great and seem to be enjoying themselves.

Thursday morning the water was cloudy again, so I did a 25% water change and then dosed with bacteria per instructions. Fish still look/act great.

Friday morning the water was clear and fish look/act great. I tested the water and ammonia is 1.0 ppm, nitrites 0. So, I dosed w/bacteria again.

Tonight if i don't see any nitrites I'll do a 20% water change so the ammonia won't burn their gills.

As far as feeding goes, I've been feeding the goldfish the floating goldfish pellets. They are about the size of their eyeballs, maybe a bit smaller. So, I only feed them each 1 pellet in the morning and 1 in the evening. I have some algea wafers for the pleco, but it seems like the goldfish eat it more than he does. Any ideas to keep the fantails from eating his wafer?
