Hi All I have a canaster filter not sure what kind but maybe 1500 + Litres per hour. Is it to much for plants? I have been told they do not like a lot of water movement.
I have a 6 foot 250 litre tank outlet and inlet at oppisite ends.
I have the outlet hitting the back wall as to defuse the flow a bit.
I can not reduce the flow rate of it.

hello and welcome to AA

can i get a little more info about you tank?
size of tank?
what kinds of plants?
how heavily planted are you?
that kind of stuff

ok so you tank is 6 foot long and ~66 gallons (that is a size and shape i have never seen before :)

and your filter is doing alomost 400 gallons in an hour

i do not know if i would point the outlet at the back wall, that is a long tank, get the flow going! :) just do not put any tall stem plants right in front of the outflow and you should be fine :)

Hiya all.
I took a good look at the filter and it is a Rena Filstar XP3 19 watt.
Are they all rated the same as in water flow?
I also moved the outlet to facing the inlet. instead of hitting the back wall.
