I recently got a 20 gallon high tank. I have been trying to figure out what fish to put in it. I defiantly will be get some cories but haven't decided on other fish. I want atleast one school of fish. I also am interested in a dwarf gourami as a centerpiece fish but am open to other options. I would like to know what smaller fish can get along with the gourami. And if they can get along with tetras. Thanks for any help!

Here are a few fish you can research and see if your local LFS carries them:

Tetras: Neon, Cardinal, Glowlight, Rummynose, Diamond, Lemon, etc

Barbs: Cherry, Checker, Pentazona

Other misc. schoolers: Furcata rainbows, Threadfin rainbows, Harlequin rasboras, Zebra danios, Beckford pencilfish
Livebearers: Guppies, platies
Bottom dwellers: Panda, pygmy, dwarf, Julii cories, kuhli loaches, dwarf chain loaches

"Centerpiece" fish: German blue rams, Bolivian rams, Apistogramma (good starter types are cacatuoides and borellii), Dwarf/Honey gourami, peacock gudgeon, betta

Ember tetras or some of the smaller rasbora species would be good options too.
