What is the correct percent water change I should be removing from my tank a week?

Depends on bio load,fertilizing or not,but I do ~50% a week . I would say 30-50% weekly would be ok .

Rule of thumb is 50% a week but it really depends on the setup. For instance, my 90 gallon discus tank gets a couple 80% wcs a week while my 65 gallon single large sa cichlid tank gets a 50% wc every 2 weeks. If it is a well stacked tank than change that water every week... 50% atleast, 80% is fine too unless tap water is funky

Change half the tank water weekly, and you'll have no tank problems. However, more is always better when it comes to water changes.
