Hello everyone. My first post and I do believe I am really going to enjoy this site.

My question is, that if Bio-Spira is really such a wonder product, why can't you buy it anywhere? I know it is available on line but only a few places and you pay a ransom because of the overnight shipping. I have heard that Marineland makes you buy a special refridgeration unit so that may be some of it, but would it not by now have greater distribution than it does? Maybe I answered my own question above. Maybe it is NOT in the best interest of LFS to carry as they may end up selling LESS fish and do not want to eliminate new tank syndrome wipe outs!

Also. If someone could recommend good FW stores in the Memphis area I would be love to hear from you. From what I can tell they come and go pretty fast here and the market is woefully underserved. I have always been able to find that one or two local stores I can patronize where I have trusted the ownership. Not here.

Sorry, but Chattanooga is at best a LONG day trip!!

Thanks

Thanks bzbee. Yes, I am familiar with that site and have read a number of posts regarding gatherings, etc. I WILL get out there to see them one day this summer but alas, it is a 5 hour drive or so from Memphis.

I need to find something closer. Have been to 3 or 4 LFS and they are subpar to OK but nothing to write home about. Of course there are the Petco's and Hollywood Pet Stars around. Petco pricing is outrageous. $77 bucks for a Emperor 400! Well, I'm rambling. Sorry. Thanks again. :)

Well I ordered my Bio-Spira from
Bernie just now. Saved on shipping by
using ground as I am Memphis and they
guarantee ground from Evensville next day!!!

My problems are solved. Man this stuff is hard to
find at a brick and mortar place. Heck it's not easy
to find on line!!

Thanks Bernie!! :D

For future reference WooHoo, Marinelandlabs.com shows that they have two retailers in Memphis. You could call these pet stores and see if they do carry bio-spira. House of Tropicals (901) 396-2088 is one store and Hollywood Pet Star (901) 360-0066 is the other. My lfs carries it here and they make sure to keep it well refrigerated. HTH

Thanks Docker66. I did use the dealer locator at Marineland and called everystore I could reach within 50 miles. Of the two you mention, one of them does not carry and the other hasn't answered the phone in a week so I suspect they are out of business.

Two others are reef specialists and they only stock for SW. So, in the end, Bernie to the rescue!!

Yep. Bernie's the best! I met him on another forum online, and now he is my friend. You really need to come to the gatherings. They are worth the 5 hours of driving. I live 9 hours away, and have flown up there from Tallahassee 3 times! I drove to the last one, and am planning on being there again in June. You will really enjoy yourself, and you can always pick up your bio spira while you are there!

I would definitely get to the gathering. Sounds like a great time. How do I find out more about when the next one is??

Aw Man! :( I am going to be in Wisconsin that weekend attending a graduation party for two of my nieces. :) I'll have to catch the next one but thanks Gunnie! :D

:p I bought my Bio Spira from Bernie and it worked great! Because I live in Nebraska and it was winter time, I had to wait and order so my B-S would not freeze in transit. It was well worth the wait. I love this product but wish that LFS would stock it.
