Hi,

Currently I have 2 baby ryukins (~2 inches). I really want to add a black moor later when my tank is cycled (it is almost there!!) but I know these can get a bit big.

Please advise if it would be OK to add the black moor.

My tank dimensions is in my profile, its a 38 gallon with an external Eheim 2217 canister (rated for 160 gallons). I also have an air stone that circulates the water very well in combination with the output flow from the filter. Also I have a few live plants in the tank.

Thanks in advance!

The recommended is 20 gallons for the first goldfish, ten for every one after, so if you keep up with water changes, I'd say you could probably add your black moor.

Agreed! Your fine to add the moor when your tank is cycled- just make sure you monitor your water daily for any spikes in amm/nitrite from the increased bioload. And keep the consideration of upgrading their tank in the future in mind if they start growing into monsters (my ryukin is HUGE). :)
