my friend recently had a major tank problem, so he had to give me his long tentacle anemone and false clown.
He woke up at 4:30 to find that his 55 gal had broken at a seam and was spilling all over the floor. He put the anemone and fish in a half filled 10 gal hexagon tank outside, and called me. I came to his house after school (after making sure my water was fine at my lfs) andpicked them up. (along with about 20 lbs of live rock and a powerhead. The clownfish died this morning, and i am wondering about the anemone. How long does it take for them to settle in/ stop laying on the bottom?
How can you tell if it is living?
How much and when should i feed it?

What are your current water paramiters/how long has your tank been up and running? Was the 10G tank already up and running?

no, he just made up some sw and threw them in.

Sounds like the tank wasn't cyclled. He basically dunmped the anenmoe into a seweage tank.
