hey everyone,

i purchased a bubble tip anemone about 1 month ago and it was a bright green when i first got it, now it's a pale green almost wht/clear. it is being hosted by a melanopus and iodine and trace elements are added to the tank. i have 150 gal with live rock and live sand and custom sealife power compact w/moonlight. i mean it seems healthy but just wondering if this is normal

TIA
Leo

It does not sound normal. Could be expelling it's zooxanthellae. What is the intensity (wattage) of your lighting? Could be there is not enough light to properly sustain the anemone.

Iodine is not needed for the anemone either. Are you testing the iodine level? What trace elements are you adding and how much/how often?

Cheers
Steve

When anemone's lose color it is usually a sign that they are lacking zooxanthellae. Which is usually not a good sign. I'm sorry to hear of your problem.
