Guy at the fish store recommended me to get (Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Stress Zyme-1 Gallon) for setting up up my new 180 gal saltwater fish tank.

Its like $40. Hoping I could by without.

Yes or No?

My answer is WHY do you need it... Using additives is not necessary with a new setup and if your using ro/di water water treatments are not needed either.

Brent where is Amherst? Westchester County? What LFS are you going to?

Cool...I'm in Rochester N.Y Monroe county..........They say That stress zyme helps jumpstart the "cycle" But I never used it....I use stress coat though to condition my water

You do not need it . You dont need a jumpstart. Just do a fishless cycle and you will be OK. Article is on this website
