baiting sick fish

Ive got 140 lbs of LR and I have no way of catching my blue regal tang. Ive tried to bait him with a piece of shrimp and held the net close, but hes one smart cookie. I need to get him out to be able to put him in QT, because he is covered with ich

Start taking all of your rock out of the tank (and be glad you don't have any corals yet). Is he your only fish? If not you need to take them all out!

I can appreciate Phyl advice, but have you tried 2 nets? YOu use a smaller one and herd him into the bigger one. I know its difficult but I have caught many fish this way. Keep using your shrimp in the net, maybe even leave the net in the tank near the food. Then be patient. This would prob be easir than removing all the LR.
You could always buy a Ultralife The Trap 4" X 9", but at $30 its kinda steep. Big Al's sells it. In my experience though the fish(esp smart ones) just know that its a trap.

I got lucky I went back for a second round and totally missed, but lucky for me he went flying out of the tank
