black spots on Lysmata cleaner shrimp

I've had this guy in my tank for about three weeks. He seems to have developed little black spots. Any ideas?

More commonly a "melanistic" reaction to coral chemistry (if any) or similar. It will usually diminish with each molt as time passes.
