Bleaching LR

I have a 100 gallon with 100 lbs of LR that is about 2 years old. All of my levels are good with no trates, trites, ammonia, and PH 8.3 and temp 81. I have 2 anenomes, 3 shrimp. I recently added Epson salt for a fish problem (bloated clown) and noticed recently that my LR seems to be losing its color. I have never added calcium until the past 1-2 weeks. I have VHO lighting that is new (less than 4 months old). It appears my LR is losing its color. However I have base rock in the tank now for 2 weeks and there is purple growing on it already. Can someone tell me what the problem is? I am using RO water as well and about to replace the membranes. I also use essential elements as well as iodine.
Thanks

I don't know the relevance but I have two big chunks of LR and they started out the same color... one is now bright dark purplish/pink and the other is a pale pink... they totally changed colors from each other.

If your lighting is new and different to what you had before, then the change is a result of adjusting to this.

More light usually translates to lighter colours.

Well the lighting is new as far as I know...let me explain. I bought the tank used and the lighting came with it. The guy I bought it from said the lights were 6 months old but he had only used them for about 2-4 months...Im beginning to wonder if the lighting is all that good...plus my anenome is moving around as well...dont know how to tell if the lights are any good or not...

Don't mistake the rock taking on more light pink coraline for it necessarily dying off. Certain colors will overwhelm the others if the growning conditions are right. You may just be experiencing a light pink coraline growth. Mine was also darker before I got the 4x65 pc's in... I had just two measly 15w NOs before and now they are a much different color. I don't think it is a bad thing.

How many total watts VHO ?

And what types of anemone ?

BTW - When coralline bleaches it tends to go white very quickly rather than turning lighter shades.

I have 440 watts of VHO. I have a BTA and a pink tip condy.
Well in 2 weeks my rock has lost a little at a time as far as color. Also I tested my calcium yesterday and its at 360. Also my phosphates are at .6...working on getting that down now and the CA up. 0 trites and trates as well as ammonia. Akalinity was around 2-3...very low. used super buffer last night to help bring that up as well. PH at 8.3.
