Blue green chromis died

My blue green chromis died tonight. I really didn't notice it was sick. The only thing that was different was that it was a bright blue and it looked thicker than my other chromis. No white spots or red. I'm baffled. I did a water change yesterday.

That's normally the worst way to lose a fish..
The reef chromis normally live longer, if you'd like to try another.

I had 5 for a year and in a 2 day period lost 4 of them and then the last one was fine until I sold that set up. From what I've always heard and read that's just how they are.. Die of for more or less no reason. Probably nothing you did or didn't do, just the nature of the fish.

I would like to get 3 small chromis to add to my tank. I have one now since the other one died. The one I have now is an adult, do you think it's safe to add small ones

I've added chromis with 1 or 2 left in my tank and never had any problems
