I have a bluejaw triggerfish in my tank for about a week now. Does anyone know if they tend to hide a lot. He does not come out from the rocks very often and is not eating from what we can see. He isn't acting sick. When he does come out he is acting normal, swimming around the other fish and seems ok. I haven't seen any other fish picking on him. Any ideas.

Naso Tang, Blackbar Squirrel, Mimic Tang, Kole Tang, Blue Hippo Tang, Domino Damsel, Clowns, Watchman Goby, Diamond Goby, Copperbanded Butterfly, Cleaner Shrimp, Peppermint Shrimp, Hermit Crabs, & Snails.

The Trigger is approx 4 inches. He has been in the tank for about a week.

The tank is 220gals and 6 months old.

I recently (just 2 days ago) purchased a male & female Blue Jaw Trigger. The female has been hiding half of the time but the male is always out except at night when he is in the rocks. They both eat really well however - in my experience triggers are hardy eaters so its surprising yours isn't.

You said "He" but is actually a male or female?
