We have two clownfishes in a 20 gallon tank (no anemone or anything else other than coral and rock) and they have been with us for nearly a month now. We had some initial water cycling issues, but everything is fine now and they appear to be happy. The only thing that has happened in the past week or so is that one of the clownfish (the bigger one) lays on its side ALOT. It started at night and I thought that was sleeping, but it now happens on a regular basis. The bigger clownfish nips at the smaller one and they circle around each other (with the smaller one hovering close by when the bigger one is on its side). I ordered Wilkerson's book on clownfishes, but I'm getting anxious seeing the fish on its side more and more. My LFS thinks its spawning, but I know the experts are here. Any insights will be appreciated.
