Clowns turning brown...

My false perc's are turning brown, and they have only been in the tank for a couple a weeks.

All of the specs are perfect, ammo, trites, trates, pH. 0,0,0,8.2 respectively. The sg is 1.022, temp. sits between 79-80 F. The one thing is the lights arent powerful.

Any ideas? Is it that I have just been giving them tropical flake food so far?

TIA

Maybe, I'm not sure. I gotta ask, why not marine food?

could be but fish change colors for many resons, such as stress, day night period, sexual flirtation, and food.

i'd definetly start feeding frozen food instead of flake... even if that isnt the reason for the change in color your fish will be much happier!
