I got a domino damsel about 5 years old and about 6 inches in size
he is slowly turning silver , you can tell just on how he looks acts and eats he is very healthy , is this normal for older fish . it's just odd to me how he is turning silver when he was all black

This a 3 spot?

Check out this picture. If yours is looking like this, it's normal. Domino Damsel, Dascyllus trimaculatus, Three Spot Damsel
One of the nice things about Dominos is that when you cycle a tank with them, they whiten up when the cycle starts to turn. Since yours is that old and that large, it sounds like it is just maturing into it's adult colors, as many damsels do. ( They look great as juvies but get a bit "ugly", IMO, as adults with a few exceptions of course. ;) )

Hope this helps (y)

I thought they get up to 6 inch from what I read and he's already about there
well either way I'm glad to say he is in a big tank

It becomes less about the length and more about the circumference. :brows: We had one sent to us from my shipper that came one to a full box. THAT'S a big damsel considering that smalls came at approx. 100 per box. (y)
