Exclamation dead clam?

I think my clam died, he was open and beautiful last night when I fed the tank as usual but this time I added Kent Marine ChromaPlex as directed for a 120 gallon aquarium (I've never used this before and was told it's safe by the lfs). I've had the clam for just over a month now with no problems. Water parameters are in check.
He was stationed on the live rock last night (since I got him) and this morning he was on the sand with clear slimy stuff on him? he's been closed since and I immediately put him back on the rock. this is the first clam I've had and he was amazing to watch. Is he gone or just sleeping/pooping ????? thanks for any ideas!!!

The only thing you can do is what I had to do about a year ago. Pull him out and smell him. You will know for sure I promise you so be prepared. It made me sick but I found out what I wanted to know.
