Dead fish

My LFS gave me this chromi because of it having this red marking. Before I even got home, the fish was dead and I couldn't get it into a quarantine tank. The red marking is under the scales of the fish, and you can't feel it when you touch it. Anyone know what it could be?

That fish looks like it may have been struck with something.

Bacterial infection probably.

I assume it is, because The other one just developed the same red lining on itself. ?
