Dead Hermit Crab out of its Shell?

wondering why this happened, only thing that changed was just added some live dry rock no other big changes. All readings seem normal as well

My guess is that it`s the molt. The molt looks like the real thing.

what does that mean, will it harm my tank, should i take it out?

Check his shell, you'll probably find him still in it. I thought mine had died but it had just moulted.

ok I found em hes all good, but should i take out the molt that he shed, I heard that its good for the tank calcium or something? Or should i remove it

I took mine out, only because I was worried about it adding more waste to the tank. It's all new to me also so the calcium thing may be true.

I leave mine in the tank..unless it was a massive hermit I wouldn't worry

yeah i saw something similar on another forum but it was on shrimp and they said to leave it in because of that so im assuming the same thing for the hermit crabs?
