Are there any tell tale signs of a dead star? Curled toes, etc? I am watching stars at the LFS but they never seem to move and I was curious if there is any way to tell a dead star. A couple of them are fromia and the tips of thier feet are curled up. Thanks!

Curled up feet or being immobile for a time is not a concern. The best indicator is loss of color and necrosis. When problems occur they will usually develope white patchy area's which are signs or necrosis. When they outright pass on, it's unmistakable. They turn into a white/grey gooey blob. 8O
