death in the tank

one of my feather dusters died recently. first he threw his crown, and then his tube became transparent and began shriveling up. ive had him for almost a year, its a very sad occasion.

everything in my tank checks out fine. nitrates, nitrites, and ammonia are all reading zero. nothing in my maintenance shedule has changed, and i havent added a new fish in about 3 months. does anybody konw the lifespan of a feather duster? i am very curious as to why he died, and worried about the fate of the other 3 that are in there.

I have no idea what the lifespan of a feather duster is.. I think you did a pretty good job keeping it for a year though.
