Diced Frogspawn

I wasn't sure exactly where to post this so I thought I would put it here. A few weeks ago after I moved my tank one of my PHs popped loose and got into my frogspawn. Of course some of the coral was damaged but not very badly. This morning much to my surprise I noticed a small peice of the polyps on the rock below the main coral. It was nicely inflated like it was growing. Is that possible? I mean for the coral to grow from piece of polyp that settle on the rock after the PH dicing?

My only question is what about the skelaton part of the frogspawn.

That's what I was thinking but the polyps the tissue is still looking good on the rock where it fell. I don't want to mess with it just incase it is actually growing. I would have thought it would have been rotted away by now nearly 2 weeks later but it still inflates in the light and glows just like the rest of the coral. Who knows...
