Hi everyone,
Just picked up a tuxedo urchin today. It looked great in the store, it was covered in rocks and shells just like it should be. When i took him out of the bag, i noticed there was a brown/red spot on the side of it where no spines grow. Since he looked good in the store, i acclimated him for a few hours and placed him in my tank. Hes been cruising for a while and looks great except for the brown spot.

Anyone have any idea if this is a bad thing? Maybe its an injury of some sort? Ill keep an eye on him, but he isnt losing any spines and is pretty active.

Probably from stress, but can't really see anything. Just keep an eye on it. If it keeps losing spines there will be more room for concern. But stable and pristine parameters can lead to a full recovery.
