Dying colt coral!

Woke up yesterday to see my colt coral in horrible shape.. I can't understand what could be happening to it, but now it's dissolving. What should I do?

Over the years I have had two basketball sized colonies crash suddenly. My best guess it is either a fluctuation of salinity or alkalinity that causes the crash, once it starts to go, it seems irreversible. Be careful it doesn't nuke your whole tank.
