Elegance coral-Seems to be dying

Seems to be dying. It was picked on by hermit crabs.. Doesn't open up. Is there hope for it to recover?

How long has it been closed? When snails or crabs mess with my stuff they'll usually open right up after they leave.

My first elegance I got rid of... Hermit took over n was eating it now my second one isn't doing well. It's long tentacles do not extend for more than a week... It seems to b shedding cottony white stuff n just inflates.. Any suggestions?
