I bought a really nice pearl bubble coral at the LFS late last week. It filled out for one day and has not opened since. Today, I noticed the milky white skin peeling off the host rock. Looks like spider webs. In a panic, I did a freshwater dip for about 4 minutes, after which the peeling progressed much faster :( I think I've gone and done it now.

Is it gone, or just going through some adolescent phase? My Yellow Toadstool leather and Ricordia mushrooms are doing fine, and the water is excellent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, it's a gonner. I woke up yesterday morning to find all the soft tissue including the vesicles shed from the rock. I have no idea why this happened. The only thing I can figure is my KH (alkalinity) was a little low.
