Feather duster qestions.

So today i bought a feather duster at petco, it was on sale and looked healthy.

Got it home, acclimated it, and put it in the tank.
The feathers came out, looked great for a while.
Then my cleaner shrimp came over to inspect the newbies, and was paying a rather large amount of attention to my new feather duster.
I came back later, to the dusters crown popped off and my cleaner shrimp still messing with the head.
So, now they tube is barren, my question is will it grow a new crown? Or would the crown have grown a new tube?
And im pretty sure the crown is fried.
Why did my cleaner shrimp do this?
I added a other feather duster a few weeks ago and it didnt even get touched.

Your cleaner shrimp was irritating it do the worm popped its head off for safety. The head will regrow in the tube and yes the worm is still in the tube
