I've got an Ocellaris clown, and can't help thinking he's "breathing" (gilling?) a bit too fast. Not at the surface though, just generally.

Approx how many "breaths" should he be taking a second?

Thanks!

He's been "breathing" quite fast ever since I got him, not at the surface or anything, and he seems happy (touch wood!) apart from that. Doesn't swim about much though, apart from the odd dart across the whole length of the tank (usually when he spots a nice piece of food!) :D

He "breathes" 2-3 times a second - that's 120 - 180 "breaths" a minute!! Doesn't seem to alter much!

In just the liyyle time I have been in this hobby, I have found out that O Clowns, clowns in general are quite questionable. To me it seems that you can never tell.
Out of 4 I lost one. Bless You!
