when i bought this little coral it was all lively and stuff, and the tenticles were out and i think that 10 have been out since the 2 days i've had him, is something wrong with him? or is he just getting used to the tank? any help will do.

tank paramaters
high range: 8.2
nitrite: 0ppm
ammonia: .50
nitrate: 5.0
i forgot what this thing is 1.23
but its a thermometer thing

1.023 is your salinity and it should be 1.025. Also your ammonia should be 0 at all times. It is toxic to fish/corals/inverts. I would do a water change right away. Goniopora is a difficult coral to keep and has a low success rate for most reef keepers.

How long has your tank been set up? Bacteria will grow in your tank that will convert it to nitrite which will then be converted to nitrate. Check the articles section for the nitrate cycle.

I totally agree. They are not a very hardy coral and the bad results far outweigh the good ones from the experiences I have heard.
