Freshwater dip

I have to wait a few more hours for the store to open so I can get the correct medicine, in the meantime, can I just freshwater dip my damsel? I want to get the parasites off him. Also, what water can I use in the qt tank that I have not set up yet? Can I use ocean water?

most of the time nsw is fine to use in your tank, but remember the shoreline is like the skimmer of the ocean so look around and make sure its not too dirty or your bringing lots of nasty stuff into your tank. What is on your damsel? fw dip will help with certain things but not everything. we need more info. do you have corals, what meds are you planning on using?

most people run a bare bottom qt with pvc pipe for fish to play/hide. wash everything with vinegar and rinse well before you put in the tank though.
