My gorgonian is losing tissue from it's limbs. Do I need to clip the dead brown limbs off and how long can they be out of water. I have had it about four weeks and polyps are not emerging very much. I have a Pygmy angel. Had I done research I would not have purchased it. He picks at it:sad: everyone else in the tank is healthy. Rics doing good and I have a long tentacle anemone
Still alive and eating well.

what color are the polyps? if they were white, then chances are it's non photosynthetic and will probably fail due to lack of ideal environment.
what kind of flow do you have it in?

Gorg

They were white when they came out. I think he'll fail because of
the aggravating angel nipping at him. I have a powerhead blowing
right through him pretty close to it. It is a red gorgonian. Should
I cut the dead off or just remove him so he won't contaminate?

well, i don't think it's a case of contamination. i would cut a piece and leave the other. see which does better. i don't think either way is going to make a difference to the angel.

gorg out of water

How long can you keep them out of water or do you need to leave
them submerged a bit. I am new to corals. My ricordea are doing well though.
My angel might need to move to another tank.

What is the best way to catch the crazy thing
without tearing my whole tank down! Gorg is
showing white polyps this morning after I gave him
a haircut last nite! Not dead. Is there some sort
of fish trap? Neat video. I guess they can be out
of water!!! Thanks for sharing!

eh...no full proof fish trap that i know of. you'll just have to get a couple friends to come over and run interference while you net him.
