i just bought 2 green chromises.. and one looks fine but the other developed this vertical line on his back.. looks brown from what i can see.. he was eating fine and swimming around fine earlier.. but than he separated from the other chromis and hid in the rocks and has been there for like 4 hours now. Is the poor thing gonna die? what can i do to save him! plz help!!

thanks

other than hiding, what is his behavious like? does he look to be breathing rapidly or laborously? do his scales look slimy or normal? and just because a lot of people get it confused, by verticle, you mean a line like this, | and not like thise, ---, correct?

yeah.. it was a | line.. but he died :( but just in case.. i would like to know what to do next time. what should i have done?

mabe look at the fish your buying a bit closer might have noticed something that didnt look right !!
