Healthy fish means no ick !! read...

i started to get ick a lot...and started to do this....
IT WORKED...without any stress at all to the fish !
a little piece of garlic...crush with back of knife..get the juice off the knife onto finger and massage into the food (i used flakes) every other day !!
thats it...no ick !
it builds the immunity in the fish ..and the ick has a real hard time attaching itself !
if this is done regularly enuff..u will have good looking..healthy fish !
you can do the same with garlic oil too !!
this worked wonders in my tank...and the ick stayed away...
good luck

cheers steve...
thats a huge long winded..good read...
but like i said beforehand..i have had a lot of good results in the method i have been shown..
and i do not disagree that garlic WILL NOT get rid of ick for sure..
but i know it HELPS in the prevention of it .....
cheers

I use fresh crushed garlic in my blendermush recipe. It is good to help keep up their immune systems in general but I don't think it actually gets rid of ich it just helps them to fight it off and keep from being stressed.
