HELP!!! My BTA will not come out into the lights!

I got a new BTA last week and it has been in the tank for three days. All my parameters are perfect except for my SG which is only at 1.026. When I put the BTA in it attached itself on the under side of a ledge where there is no light. I can not turn the ledge over becasue my clam is on the other side. Will he come out on his own, or is he doomed to stay in there and die?

Once it has had some time to get better acclimated and used to your lighting it will start to extend itself from beneath the rock ledge or simpley move out into the open. This is not uncommon behavior for these guys especially if it's sitting under the MH bulb.

Watch out it does not sting the clam though

Cheers
Steve

It's my understanding that if they want a different spot, they'll relocate to it. They will find that perfect spot if

1) It exists
2) There are no other issues plaguing the anemone

I've seen them hang under a rock or on the side of one and simply extend out a bit to reach the light. How does it look? (pic = good)

I would love to give you a pic to look at, but it is really under the rock where I can not see it. It has extended a little but not more than a few inches. I will be patient and give him time to find his own place in the tank. I will also post a pic as soon as I can get a good one. Thx.

A little patience and all is right in the world! The BTA is peeking out and moving towards the edge where he can actually be seen and get some light. My clowns are buzzing around waiting for him to come out farther. Thanks again
