HELP!! My clown fish seems to be dying

My percula clown fish (one of a pair) seems to be dying, it is breathing very heavily and rapidly and is having trouble swimming. The clown is just laying on the rock. when the current pushs it on its side it corrects itself but it would rather sit there then swim. I think it is about to die any advice? there seems to be nothing wrong with it other then a little dark discoloration above its upper lip, looks like it scraped it on a rock or something

I stuck my hand in the tank and he swam away, but then settled on the bottom when I removed it. He is breathing very rapidly like he is suffocating, but all the other fish are fine.

You do know you can edit posts instead double posting don't you? Or in your case, triple posting. Anyway, how long have you had the clownfish? If you just got him, do you know if it's wild or tank bred. I think perculas have been shipping badly all over the country.

Sounds familiar - I have lost 2 clarki 's to very similar sounding symptoms - especially the labored breathing , lack of appetite, and discoloration. check out Brooklynella hostilis - and see if the symptoms match up.

That stinks, sorry to hear it.
I gave my Heni 3 sw formalin baths and it cleared right up.
Where at in NH? I'm flying up to Manchester in the AM.

Durham - Same town as University of New Hampshire = 45 minutes from Manchester. What brings you to NH?
