Hermit Crab mass death

I ordered some livestock online. Items arrived yesterday:

1 Coral beauty

Nanoreef Cleanup Crew

5 Scarlet Hermet Crabs
5 Blueleg Hermet Crabs
10 Turbo Snail
5 Nassarius Snail
2 Queen conch

I came home today to find most of the crabs dead. Snails are fine and coral beauty is fine. Water params are

Temp-78
SG-1.021
Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate >5
Phosphate-0

Acclimated according to website instructions.

Any ideas?

TIA

John

First thing that got my attention is your SG is low for inverts. How did they say to acclimate them?

Drip meathod

1-Float the bag for 25min to set water temp.
2-Drip meathod for 1+ hrs (3+ for the angel fish)

I used a modified drip-while floating the bags, I secured the bacg to the tank so they won't float around. I opened them and added 1 tablesppon of tank water every 5 mins for 1.5 hrs. I have used this meathod in the past and I have not had problems yet. Right away, crabs started to move around and feen on rocks. it was pretty neat, actually, to seem them work.

FYI- I can not locate the 2 conchs. I wll keep looking.

i'd guess they were damaged in shipping. ammonia, temp fluctuations, pH fluctuations, other stress factors....it happens. just because it's alive when you get it doesn't mean it's healthy.
