I think my cucumber is eating..

My red starfish. Is this normal? I was told they were compatible.
He ( the cucumber ) stalks the starfish around the tank and then wiggles it's weird mouth tentacles over it.
Now the starfish limbs that he touched seem to be rotting off??
Can I save him?

Once a starfish is going downhill, there usually isn't much saving it. That said, cucumbers eat dead stuff and is most likely getting a head of such. How big is the tank? If this is a linkia, they aren't really the best for home aquaria as we don't even really know what they eat and if there isn't a large and very mature tank they easily starve along with their sensitivity to parameter issues.

Probably not awesome for the poor starfish. Rats.

No, that isn't a good habitat for much of any starfish or even the cucumber.

Yup. Starfish died.[emoji22] but the cucumber is still hanging in there!
