If I had some fish in my tank die from something that sounds like ich will the disease still be present if so for how long? And how do I get rid of it so I can get new fish?

There aren't any stupid questions, just stupid answers XD Well, most people leave their aquarium fallow for at least 4-6wks, but sometimes it can take up to 3 months.
