I have a younger coral that seems to be deteriorating form its base. I have put it in strong current and that seems to have helped speed the rebuilding process but I have heard that an iodine dip may help even more. Has anyone tried this before?? Ive heard to mix a capful (8 oz. bottle) with one gallon of sw and let sit for 15 min. but I am a little sceptical!! Any comments would be apprec.! Thanks guys!

I would consider an iodine dip for a sick coral, not a recovering coral. Iodine is an antispetic, there is no need to dip it, if it is recovering. IMO, if I were going to dip the coral I would use one of the products designed for that, like the Kent Tech D, or Seachems coral dip, both are primaraly iodine but have other agents in it as well.
