Is it dying

So I posted this to the identification thread when I found it. It hitchhiked in on some live rock. I was told it was a sponge and might not survive. Here is what it looks like today...,

It's darker and somewhat smaller. Is it dying and what can I do? Water quality is good. Flow good. I have diatoms.
 
I'm not sure if there's much of anything you can do for it. At the very most you could try adding some filter feeder food supplements such as phytoplankton but *shrug* there's no guarantee it will work. They will often die when exposed to air which usually happens when people buy live rock.
 
Sponges and tunicates and worms will come and go as your tank establishes itself. There will always be something growing and something dying at the same time. All part of the process. :)
