I just got home and my lion fish got stuck in the pump and my other fish were chomping on him, i know when the lionfish are in danger they release there toxins, how long would it be until i can tell if there are any toxins in the water... ie if it is in the water how long until my fish are dead.

Im not so sure that they release anything after dying. I had a small lion die a few months ago in a 20 gal and was probably dead for about 12 hours before I found him. I had no issues with the other fish that were in the tank.

As mentioned, there are no toxins to be afraid of. Lionfish defense is provided by their venemous spines. Perhaps you are confusing them with boxfish, which can wipe out other livestock.

I would only be concerned with any ammonia created from the dead fish.
