Hi,

Looking for a little advice on the best way to wild capture lionfish.

Out here in the Caribean :hat: they are an invasive species and need to be removed. Used to have freshwater setups for many years with good water quality. Figure a Marine fish only (Lionfish only) should be do-able.

We caught one but it inverted and the belly was very swolen and did not survive very long. My initial thought was swim bladder but this was a shallow capture - I suspect it is much more likely given the vast amount of food they consume, indigestion type effects. (swim bladder expansion in partially digested stomach contents ?)

Any advice to make this possible would be appreciated - the alternative is to keep spearing them :(

Thanks

A.
