Hey, I just noticed this little marking on my puffer, not sure what it is.

There is a pretty aggresive domino damsel in there with him, could this be a bite??

I have them in a quarantine tank with hyposalinity to treat for ich. They've been in there for about 5 weeks without any issue.

Tank parameters are ammonia - 0 nitrite - 0 nitrate - 20-30 (I realize this is high but its not easy keeping nitrates down in a 30 gallon with a puffer :( )

I also noticed a bunch of white spots on the damsels face. I can't get a picture of the guy he's too fast but they are way bigger than ich plus the tank is at 1.009 and the puffer has not shown any signs of ich (when he was the only one showing signs in the display tank)

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Finally got some OK pics of the damsel, I really want to figure out what this is as well, almost looks like the skin is peeling off of his face??

It doesn't stick out like a bump like I think fungus would, but I still think it might be some kind of fungus.

Yeah so the puffer is fine, I think it is when I feed him clams, he rams his head into the clam and gets those marks.

I didn't see any markings again until I threw another clam in there and watched, he took a few bites then started swimming around and had some marks.

For the damsel, I still don't really know whats wrong with him. I don't think I want to put him back in my DT anyway cause he's a jerk. I think I'm going to take him back for credit when I get my angelfish!

Them domino damsel fish are so delicate they rarely last long. As far as the puffer he looks pretty good.
