Medicine for fish

Just wanted to ask if there is a good general medicine out there for fish. I may have frightened my fish when I turned on the lights and he scraped himself on my LR. I don't want him to get stressed or for it to get infected. I have seen good reviews for Seachem Para Gard. Will this work for my situation? It looks to be a multipurpose medicine. Can it treat ich and other fish ailments as well? Is it good for both saltwater and freshwater? Any feedback would be great. Please let me know if you suggest something better. Thanks in advance
